Soliman Bay

Soliman Bay or La Bahia de Soliman is a residential, laid back community which is located on a crescent shaped large bay which is excellent for kayaking and snorkeling. Tourists visit Soliman Bay for avoiding the frantic mainstream tourism pace and simply for enjoy the sun and the sea on a semi-private, un-crowded beach. The accommodations in the area range from beach bungalows to deluxe cabanas to palatial villas or haciendas, most of which face the gorgeous Soliman Bay. If you want to add some adventure to your days in the area, you can simply visit Tulum, located fifteen minutes to the south, for its pueblo, cenotes and beaches for shopping. Playa del Carmen is located on the north, 30 minutes away while Akumal is only 20 minutes away. Soliman Bay is a fun place for couples as well as families.

Soliman Bay has several home rentals which mainly run on the pole power derived from local utility. Many of these still have private alternate solar energy systems which work as reliable backups. This has been left over from days before pole power came to the area.

Places to Visit nearby

The Mayan Ruins and Pueblo of Tulum are located only 10 minutes south while Akumal is located on the north, 15 minutes away. Akumal and Tulum both have restaurants, shopping, money exchange and telephones. Tulum also offers a major bus terminal.
